Product Engineer
Location: San Francisco, Bay Area
The role
At Bezi, Product Engineers create the product that our users rely on as they build games. As a key member of the technical team, you will work with product and engineering teams to define, build, and ship delightful experiences that directly impact indie game studios and developers globally.
This is a role for engineers with frontend experience and strong product thinking, that care deeply about the end user experience.
Bezi uses deep knowledge of a game developer’s project, engine documentation, and best practices to provide contextual suggestions and execute changes directly within the game engine. It’s currently used to help prototype new concepts quickly, debug projects, and execute standardizable tasks, so small teams can iterate faster and spend more time on the meaty creative and technical parts of building a game. Bezi supports Unity development today and will support other engines in the near future.
Where you will make an impact:
Communicate directly with customers to identify, build, test, and solve their pain points
Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, product, and other engineers to design, implement, and iterate on new features and inform the product direction
Iterate quickly, bringing clarity to hard, ambiguous problems
Empower studios and developers to build games faster, spending less time on the mundane, non-creative work
Uphold a high quality bar through code and design reviews
What you bring:
4+ years of industry experience
Deep knowledge of React
Experience implementing performant UI rendering very large amounts of data
Experience building large web app products that prioritize the end-user experience
Comfortable building new, complete functionality independently
Interest in AI coding tools: you may have past experience building one or strong opinions on the best ways to leverage them
An interest in games, or even have developed your own games in Unity
We use Typescript, React, Tailwind CSS, MobX, on the frontend, and AWS services, Postgres, Vercel AI SDK, and Unity SDK on the backend. The ideal candidate will already have experience with most of these technologies at scale.
About Bezi
We empower the people building games. We’re a group of technical, first-principles thinkers. Every member of the team is trusted, and expected, to deeply understand the people we build for and think creatively about ways to improve their lives and work. Our organization is very flat; everyone is trusted to pursue and validate ideas and every idea is supported and debated equally.
We believe the best work happens in teams that know each other. Bay Area team members gather in our SoMa office twice a week and remote teammates join us multiple times a year.
